+ HENTHORN LA ROCQUE
La Rocque and Henthorn create and show artworks and performances together based on the female body relating to its potential transformations, anxieties, and mythologies. The continuous intersections of their individual practices have resulted in showings at G Gallery in Toronto, Minokamo Woodland Gallery in Japan, Concertina Gallery in Chicago, Bushwick Arts Festival, Regina Rex Gallery, and in 2026 at Essex Flowers Flowers Fest in NYC.

LUPA CAPITOLINA
Lupa Capitolina is an on-going collaboration between Faith La Rocque and Jaimie Henthorn based on the Roman foundation-myth, with outcomes including photographs, video, and pencil drawings.
Lending historical weight to an image with multiple contemporary cues creates a point of tension, legitimizing a scene that could otherwise be bizarre or even disturbing. In opposition to the sexualized she-wolves of popular culture, Lupa Capitolina represents a legendary moment of Nature; highlighting the maternal instinct that promulgated a civilization.
THE DIVERS
The Divers, 2015
Performance/installation
La Rocque and Henthorn have been working collaboratively, at a distance, since 2009.
This distance is a defining characteristic of their collaboration, as is the process of communication with each other arising through the artwork itself.
In The Divers, La Rocque and Henthorn applied this anachronistic methodology to the topic of bodily transformation, desired or otherwise. These potential transformations may be gradual or sudden, generated by force or passivity.
Over a 3-day intervention at G Gallery, Toronto, La Rocque inhabited the space as a voluntary patient. The Divers presented art objects, installations, video works, and a continuous live performance by La Rocque accompanied by Henthorn via live web stream.
MASSAGE PORTAL
Performance/Installation
Massage table, ghee, copper, Himalayan salt lamp, Scotch
Massage Portal creates a space of potential anxiety, inviting participants to unwind while remaining on display. Participants may receive a massage with ghee by the masseuse, also a professional dancer. Like the unexpected performance anxiety provoked by Massage Portal, the whiskey at the bottom of the copper cylinder serves as a physical and conceptual counterpoint. By highlighting the limits of both remedies, Henthorn and La Rocque neither simply mock new‑age and self‑help trends nor uncritically accept their seductive promises.
